  • Developed hard-hitting business plans for several communications and Internet start-up ventures that resulted in initial rounds of professional financing and a spin-out for an intrapreneurial group.

  • Successfully launched the U.S. operations for a Japanese Internet payments start-up. Incorporated U.S. entity; initiated IP protection; and developed corporate strategy, marketing, strategic partnerships, finance and other functions. Established U.S. facilities; recruited initial staff members and transitioned all functions to permanent executives within five months.

  • Built and ran the marketing organization for a B2B Internet exchange start-up. Led marketing strategy, product definition, strategic alliances and marketing communications efforts. Developed and launched the brand through press tours, advertising, direct marketing and loyalty programs under budget and in fewer than three months.

  • Repositioned and revitalized a low-growth satellite communications equipment firm and its products to take advantage of the international expansion of Internet services. Devised market entry strategy, performed competitive analysis, identified target customers and trained sales force.

  • Advised the CEO of a Japanese software firm on structuring marketing and manufacturing joint ventures in China. Negotiated a multi-million dollar manufacturing joint venture agreement with a high technology organization in China.

  • Developed international product launch plans for a new generation product. Identified key strategic partners overseas, which accelerated international distribution in Europe and Asia.

  • Designed a technology commercialization framework for the R&D lab of a major information services company, which was used to assess all new innovations and maximize direct and indirect returns, including product sales, licensing revenues and other strategic benefits.
